WATER TAXIS (abras)

(0 votes, average 0 out of 5)

ImageMotorised water taxis called abras are a very popular and inexpensive way of commuting from Deira to Bur Dubai. They can be taken from the abra station at the intersection of Al Sabkha and Bani Yas Road. The Gold Souk and Al Ahmadiya School are within walking distance of the Deira side whereas on the Bur Dubai side, you disembark at the souk and the Dubai Museum is just a 5 minute walk away. The cost of a one way trip is only 1 Dh and the time it takes is barely 10 mins. They operate from 6:00 am to 12 midnight. An air conditioned Dubai Waterbus also ferries passengers across the creek. The charge for this is 4 Dhs, one way. Abras can be hired for a private cruise along the creek. The cost is around 35Dhs – 50 DHs for 30 minutes. Bargain hard and you will get a good price .
