City in a Day

(0 votes, average 0 out of 5)

altHo Chi Minh City is quite huge but it is possible to see the best part of it in a day if you carefully plan out your itinerary.

There are several tour groups that will take you around most of the city allowing you to make the most of a day and visit the greatest number of attractions and the most important monuments within your limited time frame. Scheduled tours are always readily available and can be booked by renowned tour companies. You can also explore the city on your own and learn about its rich history and culture while observing locals in their daily routines.

If you’re an early riser, you can begin your day the way many local Vietnamese do: at the markets. Grab a ca phe (Vietnamese coffee), head over to the Ho Thi Ky flower market and wander the stalls, which are already bustling at early hours. Later, you can visit the War Remnants Museum and the historic Reunification Palace and following that, take a trip to see the Notre Dame Cathedral and the famous Post Office.

Treat your taste buds to the delights of a bowl of pho for lunch and then continue to Cholon and the Giac Lam Pagoda before you head on to do some shopping at the famous Ben Thanh Market, Here you can purchase absolutely anything and can have some fun bargaining for it too!

Take a stroll down Dong Khoi Street, a shopper’s paradise, view the beautiful Opera House and have dinner along the Saigon River before ending your day in one of Asia’s most exciting cities.
