ImageFor those travelling to Lahore, there are some points that are worth remembering. Always remain vigilant as there are a number of pickpockets in the city. Avoid dark places, especially deserted places at night. If it is necessary to venture out in the evening, do so in large groups. Avoid beggars too, as giving money to one will draw others and before you know it, you will be surrounded by a whole group of them.

Stay only in well known hotels. Do not use public transportation unless necessary; it is better to hire cars. If you are driving, make sure your seat belt is on at all times. Lahori traffic police are extremely strict when it comes to violations. Watch out when crossing roads as people drive recklessly on the streets of Lahore.

Women should dress modestly and couples should observe the norms that operate within Islamic countries.

Because temperatures in Lahore are known to soar especially in the summer months, travelers should drink plenty of fluids and wear a cap or a hat to avoid getting a heat stroke.
Avoid drinking and eating at roadside joints and cafes as there is a risk of getting an upset stomach. Stick to drinking bottled water.

In case of emergencies always carry the following numbers with you:
