ImageHarrods is the rich man’s answer to Wal-Mart. London’s most famous department store traces its history back to 1834 when Henry Charles Harrods opened a tiny grocery store in London’s East End. Today the store stocks everything from food items and clothes to sporting goods and pets. Spread over 4.5 acres, Harrods is the largest departmental store in the world. The Food Hall and the seasonal Christmas department at the store are world famous. 87-135 Brompton Road, London, SW1 7XL www.harrods.com
