ImageIf you have time constraints, seeing the whole of Maldives in a day is not easy but to get a feel of the city the best thing to do is to follow the guide below. This guide concentrates on the Male, which is the capital of Maldives. You can start from Sultan Park, and see the National museum. It will take at least two hours to do justice to the historical objects housed there. In very close proximity to the museum is the Sultan’s Palace. A quick sightseeing trip here and next, at a very short distance to the palace, is the Old Friday Mosque. This mosque also called Hukuru Miskiiy is known for its fine lacquer work and intricate woodcarvings. Its interior and exterior walls are beautifully carved with Arabic writings and other ornamental designs. From there you can walk to the Republic Square. From the Republic Square you can take a taxi and go to Orchid Magu for snacks. The street houses numerous restaurants and cafes. After a quick bite, go for a quick shopping spree to Majeedhee Magu, which has along its sides numerous shops selling garments, perfumes, jewellery, handbags, watches or electronics etc. Going down this main road you will arrive at the Artificial beach. You are sure to catch an event taking place there as many cultural events are held there.

The next destination you will arrive at is the Hulhumale ferry terminal. From here you can take a ferry to Adaaran Club Rannalhi located in south Male island known for its untouched natural beauty and fertility. There are many activities taking place here like water sports, group activities led by friendly animators, dancing and live music at night. There is also an Ayurvedic Massage Centre here and souvenir shops. Island Hopping takes you on a full-day excursion, ideal for swimming or relaxing under the sun.  A visit to inhabited islands offers a taste of Maldivian life and culture. The Village Tour arranged by the resort provides a glimpse of the life and heritage of a community of about a thousand people living on one of Maldives' magical islands. This is followed by a delicious barbeque dinner putting a perfect end to a day of exploring the exotic island of Maldives.
