What to do with Children in Tow

(0 votes, average 0 out of 5)

ImageChildren will enjoy every aspect of this child centric tour. One could avoid the city sightseeing and spend more time at the Nairobi National Park. They will just love the Giraffe Centre where they can come really close to the huge Rothschild Giraffes and actually feed them. The Animal Orphanage at the entrance of the National Park is a place all children enjoy. Orphaned wildlife is looked after here and there are lions and leopards, chimpanzees and otters amongst others.

The ice skating rink in the Panari Sky Centre could keep children occupied for hours.

Music and dance follow Africans and most children love to be photographed next to a person dressed in traditional headgear.
Adventure of a few days on a Safari trip to Maasai Mara is again an unforgettable experience for children.
In recent years, Kenya’s largest hotels have launched a variety of children’s ‘safari clubs’ to allure visiting families.
Heritage Hotels (446651) runs two clubs; the Adventurers Club for 4-12 year olds and the Young Rangers’ Club for teenagers, which offer a rich variety of educational games, wildlife-spotting walks and cultural outings from the group’s properties in the Maasai Mara, Samburu, Mombasa and Naivasha.
Several other hotel groups too have started activities for children, including Sarova Hotels (2716688), whose Ozone Club hosts younger children in the Mara, Shaba and Mombasa and Lonrho Hotels (216940) which also runs a Young Explorers’ Club in the Mara, the Aberdares and Mount Kenya.

It would be nice to inculcate some history and a trip to the Railway Museum and the National Museum always intrigues children once there even though they may resist earlier.
