Dubai’s Atlantis Hotel Nearly Full

ImageAtlantis Hotel in Dubai is almost full due to aggressive marketing of promotional deals despite the slowdown in the emirate’s hotel sector. Occupancy rates at the Atlantis Hotel last week were between 95% and 100% according to managing director of Kerzner International, which developed the hotel with an arm of Dubai World – Istihimar.  Alan Liebman acknowledges the economic environment has been very tough, but explains that “We have been very active with a lot of promotional deals and making sure we provide a lot of value for our guests. 

The promotional deals offered by Atlantis include a special summer room rate of Dh800 a night including unlimited free entry to the Aquaventure water park and to the Lost Chambers, an underground network of marine tunnels.   Admission to the water park usually costs Dh200 for non-guests.  The US $1.5 billion (Dh 5.5bn) Atlantis Hotel Resort opened on Palm Jumeirah last September.


Etihad Holidays Offers Cyprus Deals

ImageEtihad Holidays is offering attractive package deals to Cyprus during a sales period between 1 July and 21 July 2009.   Etihad Holidays is a division of Etihad Airways.  Package deals to Cyprus start at Dh1,295 and include economy flights from Abu Dhabi on Etihad Airways and two nights accommodation at the four star E-hotel – an extra night per person costs Dh385.  Two nights accommodation at the five star hotel luxury hotel Elysium starts at Dh 1,415 per person and extra nights start at Dh 485 per person.

Dubai Hotels Provide Off Season Discounts

ImageHotels in Dubai are providing off season discounts and more entertainment facilities for children to attract more families from other emirates and from overseas.  Al Rais Travel’s General Manager said hotels usually provide off season discounts during the summer season with more tourists visiting Dubai.  The promotions will last until 19 September.  

All emirates families may enjoy special rates starting at Dh800 per night and various complementary activities.  Hotel guest will be provided unlimited complimentary access to Aquaventure, the regions largest water park and The Lost Chambers which has over 20 marine habitats with 65,000 fish and marine life.    A spokesperson for Atlantis, The Palm, said children can stay one complementary day at the Atlantis Kid’s Club between 11am and 8pm for supervised activities focusing on Adventure and Exploration. 


Flydubai Cuts Budget Fares 50%

ImageBudget airline flydubai is cutting some fares in half only weeks after it launched operations. Flydubai is owned by the Dubai government and is a low cost partner to Emirates Airline.  Their bookings have been better than expected since they began operations on 1 June.  They will discount selected flights on its four main routes starting at midnight tonight, and over the next three months.

Beginning tomorrow, the standard, cheapest one way tickets - Beirut or Amman (Dh250), Damascus (Dh300), and Alexandria (Dh350) will be cut in half.  Flydubai on Thursday also announced a fifth destination – to the northern city of Aleppo, but these flights will not be discounted.  Flydubai Chief Executive Ghaith Al Ghaith said they will add more destinations to their network before the end of the year, and will announce one of them this month. 


Hotels Offer Good Deals
