|World's most expensive cities|
Expatriates or foreign workers usually go to a country to earn more than what they can in their home country and to save up. But sometimes the cost of living abroad is so high that you end up not saving anything. Caracas is one of those cities where foreign workers have a hard time just getting by. A can of Coke costs over $3 and a dozen eggs will set you back by over $7. And you thought prices in Karachi and Lahore were high!
Staying at the Gran Melia Caracas hotel (pictured above) will cost you $400 per night while a quick lunch in the city will cost you $46 per person. A similar lunch in Dubai will cost you $22 and in Karachi will be under $10. Dinner is usually more than double these rates. But these are not the sidewalk dhabba rates - for those who wish to survive on street food prices are much lower.
